One of the sensational new arrivals in Bangkok in recent years is America’s Iron Chef star Masaharu Morimoto’s eponymous restaurant. The celebrity chef treats the city’s foodies with world renowned signature dishes that harmonize Western and Japanese ingredients.
Morimoto Bangkok located adjacent to the city’s tallest building and architectural landmark, MahaNakhon. Morimoto Bangkok shares the CUBE with other esteemed restaurants and luxury destinations including L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Chef Man Wai Yin’s M Krub, and the Bangkok Edition Hotel.
At Morimoto Bangkok, Chef Morimoto showcases signature dishes from his eponymous restaurants throughout the world, with highlights including his famed Tuna Pizza with anchovy aioli, olives and jalapeno; Hamachi Tartare with wasabi, nori paste, and sour cream; Rock Shrimp Tempura with spicy kochujan and wasabi aioli; and Braised Black Cod with ginger-soy reduction.
Alongside Executive Chef Arnaud Drouville, Chef Morimoto also introduces brand new dishes that utilize the local ingredients and flavors of the region, with highlights like Pork Chashu Salad, braised pork shoulder, cucumber, daikon with braised chashu sauce, crispy garlic chili oil; Morimoto Black Pepper Shrimp, with Chinese greens, Thai peppers, green asparagus, black pepper sauce; Whole Roasted Lobster ‘Epice’, Thai peppers, Thai basil, egg, Pad Thai noodles, spicy tamarind sauce, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaf.
Led by renowned mixologist Shingo Gokan, the beverage program will feature an intimate list of cocktails that feature traditional Japanese spirit ingredients including Japanese whiskies, umeshus, sakes, and shochus. Further, cocktails such as “The Yuzu,” balance the spirits with other Japanese ingredients such as shiso leaves, and umeboshi. An equally playful mocktail list will also be featured as part of Shingo-san’s program.
Designed by Bangkok based architectural firm MPD Studio, Morimoto Bangkok offers an elegant yet inviting atmosphere, creating a balance between luxury and casual dining. The 165 seat restaurant offers a woodsy dining room, a terrace overlooking the MahaNakhon building, a bar area designed with pre-and-post dinner drinking in mind, a sushi bar, and a private dining room that seats 12 with it’s own private terrace.
Morimoto Bangkok is open Sunday – Wednesday, 6pm – 11pm, and Thursday – Saturday, 6pm – 1am with lunch service from 11:30am – 2:30pm everyday.
