It hasn’t gone unnoticed, that the Pattaya market is making its comeback. A healthy stream of tourism, mega shopping malls and hotel developments are putting Pattaya back on track. City hall and government bodies are trying to make the Eastern seaboard a family orientated destination – with crack down on public sexual solicitation and theme parks greater than ever. But does Pattaya’s image also have correlation with the level of hospitality and accommodation standards? Can Pattaya offer a luxury experience?

Story by Marciano Birjmohun

To answer this question, we need to know what are the requirements for luxury tourism?

  • Service level (door to door, on trip)
  • Authentic experience (cultural, not mass travel)
  • Product quality standards (at every stage of the journey)
  • Exclusive (new places, unique or niche)
  • VIP Privacy & security
  • Indulgent experience (meets/exceeds)

The amount of genuine 5 star accommodations in Pattaya is selective, and if we enter one of the selections we often find a worn down property with lack of ambience and client engagement. Luckily these flaws have been acknowledged by operators, who on their turn are revamping existing properties and building brand new 5 star resorts.

Hotel ratings are often used to classify hotels according to their quality. The development of the concept of hotel rating and its associated definitions display strong parallels. Taking in consideration that Hotel star ranking systems differ widely from one country to another( even per city) and there’s no international standard that hotels across the world adhere to, but stars do pertain to a hotel’s level of service, amenities, cleanliness, location and price.

A Selection of Hotels to consider when you are seeking for luxury accommodation in Pattaya.
