Sammy Carolus, General Manager – Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit


Scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2018, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit will be the very first Hyatt Regency hotel in Bangkok, joining sister establishments Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Park Hyatt Bangkok and Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.

Created by the Bangkok-based architectural firm OBA, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit will be a modern Thai house designed to foster connections – a place where guests can share, socialize and collaborate. The 273-room hotel will feature 21 suites including a Presidential Suite, Sky Garden which is a multi-purpose restaurant designed by Japanese-based Super Potato, Thai all-day restaurant, lobby lounge bar, Regency Club Lounge, swimming pool, fitness centre and over 1,300 square metres of meeting space, including a ballroom. Centrally situated on Sukhumvit Road with direct sky-bridge access to Nana BTS Skytrain station, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit will provide energising experiences for guests visiting the vibrant Thai capital, whether for business or leisure.

Sammy has been part of the Hyatt family for over 25 years, commencing his career in 1992 as a sales associate at Bali Hyatt. He progressed through various sales and marketing positions at Bali Hyatt, Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin & THE BARAI and Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. In 2010, he returned to Hyatt Regency Hua Hin & THE BARAI as General Manager and in 2016, was selected as General Manager of Grand Hyatt Taipei. In 2015, Sammy received the coveted Jay A. Pritzker Award for Leadership, which honours associates at top-performing Hyatt hotels who have consistently demonstrated their ability as leaders and mentors and are viewed as exemplary role models of Hyatt values.
