SURIPONG TANTIYANON, NEW COUNTRY MANAGER TO THAILAND – VISA


Suripong holds a bachelor degree in political sciences from Chulalongkorn University and an MBA from Western Illinois University. He is also an adjunct professor at Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University.

With more than 15 years in the finance industry, Suripong brings a wealth of experience in building and leading business teams for top national and international banks, and an in-depth knowledge of the payments business.

Suripong was Executive Vice President and Head of Mass Customer Segment and Future Banking, and Credit Card Products at Siam Commercial Bank. He started his banking career at Citibank as Head of Bankcard Acquisition, Usage and Product Management, and later became its Country Marketing Director.

Suripong succeeds Somboon Krobteeranon, who has retired after leading Visa’s Thailand business for the past 20 years and played a crucial role in the growth of electronic payments in the country.
