THE PERFECT PLATFORM FOR MIND, BODY & SPIRIT

Combining the best of Ayurveda, Asian tradition and Western practice, The Peninsula Hotels is launching Peninsula Wellness, a refreshed and re-invigorated spa, wellness and healthy dining and lifestyle programme.

The Peninsula Bangkok has been inaugurated as a global centre of spa and wellness excellence – aiming to relax and rejuvenate mind and body, and escape the stress of modern living.

With Thailand often acclaimed as the haven of Oriental health practices, The Peninsula Wellness Centre has collaborated with Wat Pho Traditional Thai Medical and Massage School, also known as the birthplace of the Thai massage.

“Wat Pho” is referred to as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, as well as being Thailand’s first “open” university; Wat Pho is one of the six temples in Thailand that are the highest grade of the first-class Royal temples, where the wisdom of Thai traditional medicine and massage was gathered from many ancestors and is still passed on today.

Further highlights of the new Wellness Centre include The Peninsula Sleep Ceremony, exclusively created by ESPA for stressed travellers, and Sattva by Simply Peninsula vedic aromatherapy-inspired spa treatments formulated by Australian spa brand Subtle Energies exclusively for The Peninsula Hotels.

A Global Centre of Wellness Excellence

In conjunction with the launch, The Peninsula Hotels opens its first dedicated Peninsula Wellness Centre at The Peninsula Spa in Bangkok. This global centre of excellence will coordinate all of the group’s spa, wellness and lifestyle offerings, and will provide year-round training by accredited experts on industry-leading techniques and programmes to ensure that each Peninsula Spa offers exemplary standards of service, complemented by the world’s finest spa and beauty treatments and products.

Exclusive Sleep Ceremony for Stressed Travellers

Designed to aid relaxation for stressed travellers, international spa consultancy ESPA, headed by renowned spa authority Susan Harmsworth, has created an exclusive spa journey which combines an indulgent sleep bath, guided meditation and breathing techniques to rebalance electromagnetic energies, a hot stone body massage to release toxins and a face massage to relieve tight jaw and forehead muscles.

An Ambassador of Beauty for Biologique Recherche

Dedicated as a Biologique Recherche “Ambassade de la Beauté”, The Peninsula Spa in Bangkok is the first hotel spa in the world to receive this prestigious accolade. The award recognises the strong relationship between The Peninsula Hotels and Biologique Recherche, which was founded by Dr Philippe Allouche in France 35 years ago, together with the excellence of practice by The Peninsula’s team of therapists.

A Signature Royal Thai Massage

Thailand is acclaimed as a haven of oriental wellness excellence, and guests at The Peninsula Spa can revitalise body and mind with a new range of Thai massage treatments. A first for a hotel group, these treatments are introduced in partnership with the famous Wat Pho Temple Traditional Thai Medical and Massage School in Bangkok, which is celebrated for its health-giving massage techniques based on traditional Thai medicine.

Introducing Sattva by Simply Peninsula

The new Sattva by Simply Peninsula range of spa products and treatments has been exclusively formulated for The Peninsula Hotels by Subtle Energies, an award-winning Australian spa brand founded by Farida Irani in 1993. Sattva means ‘pure’ in Vedic philosophy and Sattva by Simply Peninsula has been expertly designed by Subtle Energies to combine classic Ayurveda methods with contemporary massage techniques, such as remedial and lymphatic drainage. These techniques are enhanced by the therapeutic and sensory benefits of the active ingredients within Sattva’s pure and rare Ayurveda Aromatherapy essential oils, Himalayan crystal salts, clays and herbs.
