The Retreat Koh Chang Experience
Koh Chang is one of the best places to hide away from the world’s busyness and return to yourself. The Retreat Koh Chang became my sanctuary — a peaceful hideaway for rest, healing, and renewal.

Nestled between Kai Bae Beach and a quiet fishing village, this place opens into uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Thailand, where calm lingers in every detail. Surrounded by nature, I felt my energy reset and my inner strength grow again.

From sunrise to sunset, I never tire of lifting my eyes to the sky, watching its colors shift and soften. By the ocean, I listen to the rhythm of the waves, letting each breath match their flow. In this slower pace, my energy resets, and I feel myself absorbing the quiet strength and healing power of nature.

I begin my day with a gentle swim in the retreat’s pool, embraced by nature and shaped by stillness.

Here, simplicity, seclusion, and the steady rhythm of the natural world guide each moment. Teak wood and thoughtful design create a clean, contemporary warmth that blends seamlessly with the surrounding greenery.

Every detail reflects a belief that nature is the true source of beauty, inspiration, and relaxation—a quiet welcome into the serene rhythm of tropical island life.

A peaceful breakfast at The Retreat Koh Chang — waves as my soundtrack and a stunning sunrise over the four islands.
I took time to wander the island, spending a gentle two and a half hours trekking through its national park, learning from the plants and letting the forest hold me.
With each step, I allowed the stillness of the trees to soothe my soul—a quiet moment of healing through forest bathing.

Tree hugging therapy is a calming ritual inspired by forest bathing (shinrin-yoku)—a moment of simply resting your palms on a tree, feeling its quiet strength, and letting your breath soften. It encourages relaxation, grounding, and deeper presence.
Along the trail, we also discovered the island’s beautiful story through its ecology and botany, learning how every leaf and branch plays a part in this serene ecosystem

As I embraced this peaceful moment, I found space for self-love, mindfulness, and a renewed connection with nature.
This journey was part of my two-night, three-day visit for the remarkable cultural event A Grand Festival of Opera 2025, held across Saturday and Sunday—a soulful celebration of music, artistry, and Thailand’s creative brilliance. It became a truly special trip for me, filled with moments I will never forget.
