Lavishly decorated rooms appointed with expensive furniture, linen, amenities and state-of-the-art technology, coupled with nuanced personalised service, fine dining options, and top-notch spas is what separates the good from the great.
Experts in the luxury hotel industry say that around the world the appetite for such experiences and the price tag attached to it is growing exponentially. A detailed analysis of the trends showed that global consumer interest in the luxury hospitality increased 7 percent in the period January to December 2014 compared with a year earlier. China showed the largest growth in demand for luxury hotels where consumer interest increased 58 percent year-over-year.
Analysts who compiled the data based on 485 million online searches for 70 brands across 20 markets also said the top global chains like Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels and Starwood Hotels & Resorts continued to be the most searched-for hotel groupings. The Asian-headquartered Shangri La hotel group was the fastest growing luxury hotel in the world as ranked by consumer interest.
