The source of Ai Khiaowaterfall, also known as NaiKhiao waterfall, is sprung from Ai KhiaoMountain which belongs to the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range. The water from this waterfall is the origin of Khlong Pak Paying canal which runs pass Khirisubdistruct, PhromKhiri district, before flowing into AoNakhon. From 1 January 1981 or the first day that general visitors are allowed to visit, the waterfall still reminds in its rich natural surroundings with strong currents. Ai Khiao waterfall is one of the popular attractions and is particularly crowded during seasonal holidays. In that area, visitors can find several bowers or gazebos to sit down and relax. There are also a number of shops and stalls at the entrance of the waterfall. Ai Khiao waterfall is considered very safe to swim because the depth of the basin is not beyond children’s reach. Moreover, the scenic views in that area is worth photographing. Ai KhiaoorNaiKhiao waterfall is located in Thon Hong subdistrict, PhromKhiri district which is west ofNakhon Si Thammarat downtown. Tourists can get there via theNakhon – NopPitham route (Highway 4016) for about 25 kilometers. It is 4 kilometers away from PhromKhiri district office. Visitors should head west along the Nakhon – NopPitham route, there are signs “The Entrance to Ai KhiaoWaterfall” guiding you to the destination. Please pay the admission fee at the checkpoint.
