Bangkok’s Best Khao Chae – Thailand Summer Promotions 2024

Traditional Thai delicacy Khao Chae (Chilled rice in jasmine-scented water with condiments) Khao Chae has its origins in the legends of the people of Mon, who created this special dish as a gift for the gods during Songkran.

Under King Chulalongkorn’s rule Khao Chae flavoured with jasmine-scented water became a favourite in the palace, and in 1910 the Thai delicacy was enjoyed throughout the country.

The delicious sweetness of the jasmine scented water on the palette, coupled by the sharp flavours of fried sweet peppers, battered salted eggs, stuffed shallots, fried shrimp paste, sweet fish, salty beef and pickled vegetables and fruits.
