Chit Chaat: Bangkok’s Newest Modern Indian Restaurant to Try Now
Located on Sukhumvit Soi 24, Chit Chaat is easy to find — just a short walk from Phrom Phong BTS and right beside Emporium. Set within Oakwood Hotel, this modern Indian restaurant brings together delicious flavours, stylish design, and a warm, lively atmosphere.

Here, conversations flow freely, cocktails spark opinions, and the heart of Punjabi hospitality blends beautifully with Bangkok’s love for lively dining.
Rooted in Punjabi hospitality that is warm, lively, and social, Chit Chaat takes its name from two of India’s greatest exports: chit-chat and chaat (a street-side snack), bringing together the art of conversation, or perhaps a little talk, with the vibrant, street-side spirit of chaat.

In this review, we share our Chit Chaat Experience — a snapshot of great food, vibrant energy, and a perfect place to relax, dine, and watch locals chat and enjoy their meals.
What we love: The House Dal Makhani with smoked butter is rich, creamy, and deeply comforting. The lentils are slow-cooked to a velvety texture and layered with mild spices, with a gentle sweetness from the butter and cream. The smoked butter adds a subtle, aromatic depth, leaving a warm, lingering finish that feels indulgent yet balanced.
Mutton Nihari is deeply flavorful and comforting, with melt-in-the-mouth meat in a rich, silky gravy. The slow-cooked spices deliver a warm, peppery depth without overwhelming heat. Hearty, indulgent, and satisfying, it’s best enjoyed with fresh naan for a truly soulful experience.
Rajasthani Style Spicy Lamb Tacos fiery and robust, the lamb is intensely spiced with bold Rajasthani flavors—earthy chilies, garlic, and warm whole spices. The meat is juicy and deeply savory, wrapped in soft mini tacos that balance the heat. Sharp pickled onions cut through the richness, while a squeeze of lime lifts the dish with bright acidity. Powerful, rustic, and unapologetically bold.

Murgh Anghar delivers a bold interplay of spice and smoke. The charcoal grilling infuses the chicken with a deep, smoky aroma that hits first, followed by layered spices built on chili, garlic, ginger, and warm garam masala.
The exterior is lightly charred, adding bitterness and crunch, while the inside remains juicy and tender. Heat is assertive but balanced, allowing the natural savoriness of the chicken to come through. Robust, rustic, and full-bodied, Murgh Anghar is a dish with real intensity and character—best enjoyed hot off the grill with fresh onions, lemon, and naan.

In a city where Indian dining often swings between budget-friendly canteens and white-tablecloth formality, Chit Chaat carves a new space entirely on its own. It’s casual yet considered, stylish yet soulful — a social dining concept that defies expectation. The restaurant proves that Indian food, beyond clichés, can be expressive, modern, and full of heart without losing its roots.
