The raindrop welcomed us at the front of the entrance and we were greeted by the hospitable concierge and the rest of the team.

The minimalist style restaurant, stylish, and very lively. The dining room is set up with earth tones and filled in with artisan crafts. We first welcomed by Belstar Prosecco.

A few minutes later, all guests filled the 80 seats quickly and we all were clapping for the arrival of Charlie Carrington. 25 years guest celebrity chef who loves to travel abroad a few times a year and this time in Bangkok.

Charlie gave us a hint that the night was about the local ingredients he fond of, its fabulous textures and peculiar scents. Charlie explained how surprised when walked around the local Thai markets, mesmerized by the colors (he travel with a camera with him to capture the alleys and displays full of tropical fruits and herbs). The river prawns were one of his favorite and one of the highlight for tonight on the menu.

Crab Brown Butter Chickpea and Pita delighted you with creamy sauce overwhelmed with the freshness of crab meat and spicy hummus. The sommelier were selected Yering Chardonnay 2017 from Yarra Valley for the first course. We loved it.

The second main dish, Prawn Smoked Corn topped with chili and plays bit sour by a fresh lime good companion with Schild Estate Reisling 2017 from Barossa. I really liked its organic taste and bought one bottle back home.

Wood-grilled chicken with the aroma of charcoal, the crispy skin and soft juicy meat inside. Feeling good together with anchovies, gorgonzola and potato. To go with this, enjoy a glass of full-bodied Maverick Breechens Chardonnay.

We continued with tender Smoked Pork Ribs with condiments and grilled lettuce salad and a red glass of The Hedonist Shiraz 2017 from McLaren Vale. Very good choice.

Smoked Buttermilk Sorbet with charred pineapple and soaked Cardomon sponge and followed by Schild Estate Reserve Late Harvest Semillion 2012.

John Popovic, founder of Sweet Poppy who welcomed us and introduced the ideas behind the concept restaurant. He promised to bring a guest celebrity chef to here every 3 – 4 months.

We highly recommend you to place a list of Sweet Poppy on top of your calendar, a must to bring your friends or family members to have a great meal there.

Located in Nonthaburi area and it took us about 30 minutes by car from the center of Bangkok; the restaurant is in a residential area and leafy view to exploring.
