Electric Sheep Bangkok to Open at The Warehouse, Charoen Krung – Talad Noi
The Warehouse, a vibrant community space in a historic building within the retro-chic Charoen Krung Talat Noi neighborhood, will welcome a new food and mixology concept: Electric Sheep. Drawing inspiration from Philip K. Dick’s 1968 dystopian novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and its cult film adaptation, Blade Runner (1982), Electric Sheep is a visionary restaurant conceived by chefs Amerigo Tito Sesti and Yoan Martin.
Electric Sheep is a dream-fed-off reality, which transports guests into a retro-futuristic scenario, where the echoes of a lost natural world regain ground over the remnants of a bygone Sino-mechanic past. Located within the eclectic space of The Warehouse, the venue’s surreal design features ascending staircases, collectible artifacts, neon-drenched terraces, and video projections that blur the lines between reality and fiction. This setting perfectly encapsulates the eerie, yet captivating essence of an “old world” preserved in a celluloid dreamscape.
Chef Amerigo Tito Sesti and Chef Yoan Martin, the creative forces behind Electric Sheep, who have already left a mark on Bangkok’s culinary scene, bring a unique fusion of Mediterranean-inspired flavours and Thai ingredients to the table. The duo is known for their tenure at J’AIME Bangkok, where they earned a Michelin Star from 2018 to 2023. More notably, in 2024, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Green Star, an exclusive honor given to restaurants that uphold outstanding sustainable and eco-friendly culinary practices. With Electric Sheep, Amerigo and Yoan continue their commitment to sustainability, local sourcing, and fostering cross-cultural evolutions.
Chef Amerigo Tito Sesti originally from northern Italy, began his journey unusually far from the culinary world, in the colorful, art-filled atelier of his parents, but the ways of arts are mysterious and led him to explore Michelin-starred kitchens around Europe and beyond. At Electric Sheep, Amerigo focuses on a cuisine where nature is the vision and “cultural contamination” is the trajectory; Mediterranean flavours are his and therefore remain the inspiration while taking on local finest natural and artisanal products.
Chef Yoan Martin, who hails from an artisan bakery in southern France, has always been deeply rooted in the simplicity and purity of traditional flavours. After honing his skills in Michelin-starred restaurants across France and practicing in Russia, and Australia, Yoan found a new terroir in Thailand, where his commitment to sustainable cooking took on a new dimension. Yoan embraces a “regressive” approach at Electric Sheep, returning to genuine, unpretentious food, crafted with a deep respect for nature.
Electric Sheep offers a menu that harmonises the rich culinary heritage of the Mediterranean with selected Thai local products. It is a Metropolis of culinary innovation.
The dishes cooked up by Amerigo and Yoan are developed around locally sourced ingredients from small producers and passionate artisans, showcasing the best of Thailand’s bounty. Guests can look forward to inventive blends, infusions, fermentations, and local wine from GranMonte Vineyard and Winery, all while enjoying comfort food that ignites when cultures collide.
About The Warehouse
The Warehouse is more than just a venue located on the old and characteristic route of the city, alongside the riverbanks near Chinatown; it is a creative hub where arts, food, drinks, and music converge into a lively and engaging environment: a people’s community.
The Warehouse is dedicated to preserving Bangkok’s cultural heritage while lighting up an “underground” social scene. Spanning over a thousand square meters, this expansive space hosts various events, from food pop-ups and flea markets to concerts, fashion showcases, rotating art exhibits, and dance festivals. The building’s original architecture is shamelessly (or brazenly) exposed, creating a blend of old-world charm and a funky polycultural scene.
With the recent addition of the Clutch Bar, The Warehouse continues to expand its offerings, with Electric Sheep as their newest and possibly most peculiar, making it a go-to destination for those seeking a truly contrasting Bangkok sub-culture world.
