Luxury Event – GranMonte’s Pairing Playground 2026 Unites Top Thai Sommeliers at KWANN for a One-Night Showdown


GranMonte Vineyard and Winery, Thailand’s pioneering family-owned winery and leader in tropical viticulture, is partnering with contemporary live-fire restaurant KWANN to present GranMonte’s Pairing Playground 2026, an immersive one-night culinary experience celebrating Thai cuisine, Thai wine, and the country’s leading sommeliers. 

The event also marks the first collaborative showcase of “Wine Puen” (“Friend’s Wine”), GranMonte’s curated selection of international wines.

Taking place on Friday, 17 July 2026, Pairing Playground transforms dinner into an interactive exploration of flavour, inviting guests to discover how different wines can completely reshape the dining experience. Welcome drinks will be served at 6:30 PM, with dinner at 7:00 PM.

Guests can choose the five-course set menu at THB 2,500++ per person and add the sommelier-curated wine pairing at THB 1,200++ per person. The optional wine pairing features one curated pairing for every course, presented personally by the guest sommeliers throughout the evening. The experience includes KWANN’s contemporary Thai menu, from playful snacks and Northern-style beef tartare to sharing-style mains and dessert, paired across the evening with GranMonte wines and selected labels introduced by Thailand’s leading sommeliers.

Guests will also take part in a blind tasting challenge during the main course, testing their ability to identify grape varieties. Throughout the evening, diners can playfully score the four sommeliers, with the lowest-scoring sommelier facing a light-hearted penalty at the end of the night!

Rather than a traditional wine pairing dinner, Pairing Playground places Thailand’s celebrated sommeliers at the heart of the experience. Each sommelier has been invited to interpret Chef Bom Piyapong Ming-ngam’s modern Thai cuisine through their own pairing philosophy, selecting wines and sharing the stories, techniques, and reasoning behind every match.

The evening brings together an exceptional line-up of Thailand’s leading wine professionals:

  • Bom Jirayu Keeratiyutamornkul — 2nd Runner-up, Thailand’s Best Sommelier 2025 (Wine Academic)
  • Max Suppawat Teeta — Thailand’s Best Sommelier 2024 (ETCHA)
  • Art Phatrachot Dechapok — Thailand’s Best Sommelier in French Wine 2020 (Baan Tepa Culinary Space)
  • Mhuek Tanapong Vongsuwan — Thailand’s Best Sommelier 2025 (Cannubi by Umberto Bombana)

Each course has been individually curated, pairing KWANN’s bold, ingredient-driven cuisine with local Thai wines from GranMonte as well as carefully selected international labels, demonstrating how multiple pairing approaches can create entirely different dining experiences.

The menu has been created by Chef Bom Piyapong Ming-ngam, Head Chef of KWANN, whose contemporary Thai cuisine celebrates seasonal ingredients through thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking.

Pairing Playground is designed to make wine pairing approachable, interactive, and fun. By bringing together leading sommeliers around one menu, guests can experience firsthand how different philosophies and perspectives shape the relationship between food and wine, while showcasing the potential of Thai wines within a contemporary dining context.

The collaboration also reflects GranMonte’s core commitment to supporting Thailand’s growing wine culture, championing local terroir, and strengthening relationships between chefs, sommeliers, producers, and wine lovers.
