Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Elite Edition has achieved an impressive booking number of nearly 2,000 units since its public launch at the end of November. Offering new levels of luxury, style, comfort, safety, performance and technology, the achievement coincided with the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport nameplate (on which the Elite Edition is based) being ranked highest in the J.D. Power 2018 Thailand Initial Quality StudySM (IQS) in the large-SUV segment. This serves as a solid testimony to Mitsubishi Pajero Sport’s popularity amongst drivers in Thailand.
“We are grateful for once again we receive great feedback from our drivers, demonstrating that we are on the right track with offering products and services to our drivers with unrivalled quality. Being ranked the highest recognizes the efforts we put into the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to ensure quality that is second-to-none” said Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Defining initial quality as Problem Per 100 (PP 100) vehicles, the J.D. Power 2018 Thailand IQS ranked the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport the highest due to its score of 63PP 100 – the lowest among other automotive brands in the large SUV segment. For the study, the lower score denotes higher initial quality (less problems).
The J.D. Power 2018 Thailand IQS measures problems experienced by new-vehicle owners in two categories: design-related problems and defects and malfunctions. The study is based on responses from 5,106 new-vehicle owners, covering 13 different brands that include 74 passenger cars, pickup trucks and utility vehicle models.
Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s 2018 IQS achievement follows the brand’s second place in the prestigious J.D. Power 2018 Thailand Customer Service Index (CSI) StudySM, and the forth place in the J.D. Power 2018 Thailand Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) StudySM. The brand’s service satisfaction ranking has continued to significantly improve for the past four years.
“Hence, it is small wonder of how Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Elite Edition became such a hit with our customers. It takes premium luxury to new levels in addition to the endorsed safety, performance and technology.” added Mr. Chokki.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Elite Edition is available in 2WD and 4WD versions, meeting the needs of the mostly-versatile lifestyles of Thai drivers. It is offered in exterior colors of Jet Black Mica, and two-toned White Pearl with black top, with additional accessories including engine hood emblem, black front grille, black front under-garnish, black roof rail, rear spoiler, exhaust finisher, black rear under-garnish and black 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, premium touches provide luxurious comfort with Quole Modure(R) – a sophisticated seat material that enhances occupants’ comfort by safeguarding the seats from getting extremely hot when the vehicle is exposed directly under the sun. The brown-colored special material is finished with Horizontal Striped quilting. Other luxurious touches include brown door trims and console box, emblem scuff plates with LED lighting and special floor mats.
Both the 2WD and 4WD versions are powered by the 2.4L MIVEC VG Turbo Diesel engine, producing 181ps at 3,500rpm and 430Nm at 2,500rpm, with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is equipped with seven airbags and other active safety technologies including Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Blind Spot Warning and Multi Around Monitor with Parking Sensors.
