Museum Stedelijk Amsterdam – Coded Nature Exhibition

Recognised for Franchise Freedom – a performative artwork and flying sculpture formation of 300 drones fitted with lights sources, casting a spectacular light show in the skies of Miami.

This summer Studio Drift’s exhibition, Coded Nature, will showcase the largest-ever installation of their Fragile Future design – an iconic series of light sculptures of dandelion heads individually applied to LED lights which brought the duo international renown. With this installation, the duo questions the future of our world, in which two such extremes may well need each other to exist. Additional exhibition highlights include the Fragile Future Chandelier 3.5, acquired by the museum in 2015 and a floating concrete monolith in the IMC Gallery.

Studio Drift, the renowned Dutch artist duo, who are known for exploring the boundaries of technology, art and nature, will bring their works into the suites of the Conservatorium. Dandelight, the multidisciplinary light sculpture, will be displayed in the Grand Duplex Suite, with views over the Stedelijk Museum. In addition, guests will enjoy exclusive private studio access at Studio Drift’s headquarters, a guided tour and the chance to see a diverse selection of art and design on display in the capital and within the hotel’s own walls.

Amsterdam is recognised amongst culture lovers as being one of the most exciting cities for art and design. Since opening in 2011, Conservatorium has been regarded as a living canvas for Dutch designers with its guest rooms, hallways and restaurants showcasing home grown talent. Art pervades every aspect of the hotel – with interiors by Piero Lissoni, and featuring regular exhibitions with local artists including the Artist in Residence programme – Conservatorium continues to hold a central place in the capital’s art and design scene.

For visitors, Conservatorium – Amsterdam’s leading luxury lifestyle hotel and a member of The Set hotels collection offers “Studio Drift Discovery” package prices €1,420 per night valid from now – 26 August 2018 includes:
