Review The Rain Tree Café, The Athenee Hotel Bangkok’s Sunday Brunch: 2024 Edition

Sunday Brunch at The Rain Tree Café,The Athenee Hotel offers a unique voyage of culinary discovery with all specialties and treats.

One of the distinctive features we adore about The Athenee hotel’s Sunday brunch is the ambiance. They boast a magnificent hotel grand lobby that exudes luxury and class. From the courteous door staff to the opulent decor, complete with fresh floral arrangements and impeccable air-conditioning, every detail enhances the experience. Here are some of highlights of our visit. The food selections featured some great imported and fresh local products such as oysters, river prawns, foie gras, and more. If you are Cheese Raclette lover, here they got one (definitely a plus on the buffet) and we could not stop going for it.

Very fresh seafood on ice including Alaskan king crab, New Zealand mussels, local Babylons, crayfish, squid, and shrimp. For Japanese food lover, fresh sashimi, salmon, tuna, smoked eel sushi are available.

Live suckling station featuring French oysters, including Gillardeau, Normandy, and Fine De Claire.

The Rain Tree Café offers interactive live cooking stations, with a much better spread of dishes at the restaurant, including new seasonal premium dishes.

Selection of imported cold cuts and condiments. Check out the excellent salmon platter as well.

Pan-seared foie gras, grilled river prawns offered at the table.

The brunch offers a diverse array of international cuisines, boasting a multitude of tantalizing options to choose from. If you’re a fan of ceviche, be sure to sample their exquisite sea bass. Additionally, we relished the traditional Indian corner and savored the freshness of the dim sum selection, especially the succulent Peking duck.

A wide array of dishes cooked a la minute…with plenty of options for a lavish brunch experience.

The Live & Grilled stations were one of our favorite. They grill to your order: baby lambs, beef, and many more. The week we went there was Easter day, so we were lucky to get a special roasted turkey as well.

For cheese lovers,  12 kinds of cheeses are available, including some classic French and local cheeses such as Black Truffle Reblochon, Melene cow, Buche cheese, San Paquanburie, Feta goat, Halloumi cow, and Lanna cheese.

The brunch is very family and kids friendly. Comfort food will thrill your little one will love, including tasty mini burgers or pizzas.

Prepared in front of you, the chocolate treats like Chocolate balloon and chocolate molten offer interesting pre-desert options..lava or filled with strawberry coulis, jams and fruits combined, the chocolate spheres are like a giant Kinder surprise!

They offer an extensive buffet line for those with a sweet tooth, featuring homemade ice creams, fruits, cakes, cremes brûlées, chocolates, macarons, Thai sweet crafts, and more, all beautifully presented and bursting with color and flavor. These treats are perfect for adding the final touch to your Sunday brunch with family, especially when enjoyed with a cup of cappuccino or herbal tea.

The Rain Tree venue, situated on the same floor as the hotel lobby, fosters a wonderfully social atmosphere. It attracts a sophisticated crowd, making it a perfect spot for families and children as well. The attentive and well-trained staff ensure that every detail is attended to, creating cherished memories for the kids and a truly memorable day for all.
