Amaya Sunday Brunch


When it come to Bangkok’s best Sunday brunches, people have their own favorites place whether it is for the best seafood selection, meat display or else. After a morning shopping at CentralWorld, we recently had a chance to experience Amaya Sunday brunch at Amaya Food Gallery.

The Amaya Food Gallery features a culinary experience with exotic tastes from the streets of Asia in a vibrant market style venue with vivacious metropolis with fast fresh food services. Bright and contemporary, this is the new dining venue of the Amari Watergate hotel, which reflects the management’s passion to step out of its comfort zone and not rely on merely in-house dining guests. The hotel is now looking at another promising type of customers — foodies and great valued buffet-hunters. During our visit, lots of locals with families and some expats as well.

The Amaya Food Gallery is turned into a grand display of world-class street-food flavors, combining various cuisines of the East and West. Amaya boasts a spacious wine cellar-cum-European cheese corner and a sweeping cold cut bar where classic charcuterie options, home made breads are offered with comprehensive helpings of condiments.

Living cooking steak station where a selection of meats from Australian wagyu, lamb, pork chop and chicken,  river prawn, salmon and mussels.

Not to be missed is the pan-seared French foie gras. On the day we visited the brunch, the firm and pudgy slab of the duck liver came nicely dressed with fruity balsamic reduction sauce.

We have to admit that this place is one of Bangkok’s best value for money Brunch, serving a very large selection of delights from around the world featuring premium goods, such as Fin de Claire oysters, Alaskan king crab, 40 varieties of dishes to choose from…overall very impressed with the variety of food, cuisines and “Market” space.

Oyster lovers can enjoy French oysters – for seafood fans, lobsters, Alaskan king crab leg and tiger prawn on ice with all kind of condiments include Thai spicy sauce.

Roasted items are available…don’t miss the wagyu prime rib. The tenderness of the beef was extraordinary ! You can also order half lobster per person cooked to your liking…Just place your order and it gets delivered to your table.

The Indian kitchen, with a great team of Indian chefs displays chicken biryani, lamb curry, tandoori roasted meats perfectly prepared to eat with herbs, garlic-cheese naan bread. Very nice presentation overall for all the Indian specialties.

Thai food station – Phad Thai

If spicy is your things, then you will love Thai food station. From Som-tam (papaya salad), spicy variety of Thai salads (sour, spicy) you will enjoy your time here. They also feature lots of samplers with dry beef, fishes, vegetables and noodles.

For Chinese -Cantonese station, you will enjoy roasted duck, crispy pork belly, suckling pig, dim sum, noodle soup Hong Kong-style roasted meat including honey-glazed barbecued pork loin.

Japanese & Sushi station, reasonable of selection of sushis and sashimis.

Cold cuts & cheeses 

Cheese selection of imported French, Italian cheeses is also available.

Dessert station, you will find , offering a local and Western sweets, cakes, pastries, chocolate fountain and ice cream.

If you have not tried traditional Thai dessert before, here you will find cool items, funky & very colorful traditional Thai desserts, icy carving machine that Thais use during old time, shaved ice with flavoured fruits, sweety syrup.

If you come with family & kids, you will love brunch here. As kids eat less and faster than the adults, they’ll certainly enjoy the kids corner located on the same floor as Amaya restaurant. The hotel assigned a well-trained team member to look after your little ones.
