Wat Anubanphot


Wat Anubanphot (Khao Noi) is located at 66 Moo 6, Tambol Baan Mai Nhong Sai, Amphur Aranyaprathet, Srakaew. The tourists who are interested to travel to this temple can travel from Suwansorn Road and follow the Tanavithee Road (the road to Amphur Tapraya) for 1 kilometer.  Back to 1925 in the reign of King Rama VI, Thailand had a plan to build the east side railway to Pad Riw pass Pracheenburi, Amphur Kabinburi, Amphur Muang Srakaew through Amphur Aranyaprathet and to the Thailand border at Klong Luek in order to build relationship with Cambodia. Wat Anubanphot or “Khao Noi” was built in 1925 as well. Wat Anubanphot or “Khao Noi” is a temple with beautiful architectural style including the Ubosot inside. The foundation was built in a square shape 11.5 * 11.5 meters with a sharp tip on the roof according to the Thai architectural style. The roof of Ubosot is divided into 2 levels; the first level has 6 balconies and the second level has 4 balconies. The stairs lie down to the 4 sides of the mountain. Inside the ubosot is where the Buddha’s footprint, the sacred sanctity of the Aranyaprathet villagers. The temple is opened for visitors every day from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
